Currently Coveting: The Book I’m Dying to Read & The Sweater-Suit I Never Want to Remove

I’m fairly certain I was a bear in a past life as it’s in and around this time each year that I want to wrap myself in cashmere, deck my home out in ambient lighting (hello candles and twinkly lights!) and stay put until the warmth of the sun begins to emerge once more. I love the summer, don’t get me wrong, but I live for cozy weather and all of the goodness that comes along with it. My toddler and I have been taking full advantage of the cooler weather. We’ve spent most mornings making crispy honey apples for breakfast every morning (recipe here!) while listening to New York jazz, and it’s soul filling in the very best way. I know our slow, quiet mornings won’t last forever, so I’m relishing all fo the magic while I’m able. Naturally, this month I’ve been drawn to all sorts of things that give off a similar vibe. From the book I’m dying to read, to the sweater-suit I never want to remove, here are a few things I have my eye on right now.

We’ve had our fair share of cold and rainy days around here and to be honest, I’m living for it. I’ve been teaching my 18 month old daughter the art of getting cozy since the start, and snuggling up with a hot cup of coffee and an episode of Elmo’s world while the rain falls outside our window is my idea of perfection. There’s no denying it any longer, I am officially ready for the change of seasons. Though fall has always been my favourite (cue all the cozy!), I wasn’t ready to let go of the lingering bits of summer until recently. And while full blown sweater weather is in the not too distant future, right now I’m relishing in the in-between perfection. You know the kind, I’m sure. It’s where you’re still able to feel the warmth of the sun on your face, but wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket also feels appropriate. It’s weather perfection as far as I’m concerned, and it’s making me feel brand new. Currently Coveting: All Things Cozy

It feels a little strange to be pulling this post together in the middle of a heatwave, but as I was leaving the house early this morning before sunrise I couldn’t help but feel just the tiniest nip in the air. I’m only working a couple of days a week right now, and the more limited work hours have allowed me to truly soak in all that summer has to offer.
