Union Square Loft by Worrell Yeung and Colony

Complementing the architectural narrative laid out in front of them, Colony have carefully introduced layers of texture, colour and comfort to the interiors. “Worrell Yeung designed an open, airy and ultimately monumental space, which we juxtaposed with furnishings and interiors that lend themselves to the smaller signatures of home,” founder and creative director of Colony Jean Lin says. An intuitive material palette helped execute this – a palette that softens and accentuates where it needs to, amounting to spaces that feel measured and refined.

Kolon Loft by Norm Architects | Global Architecture

Founded by Frits Jensen, who began inventing hinge systems, Danish cabinet makers Kolon have been creating cabinetry since 1972. The family-owned company’s work is often recognised by the signature Kolon hinge that features two exposed dots. In the bathroom, Kolon crafted a walnut cabinet that envelopes striking marble sourced from Borderstone and brass fittings from German designer DornbrachtExpressive stone counterbalances the softness of linen and leather in the bedroom, where artisanal details such as the Kolon wardrobes and window seat with drawers reflect the bathroom cabinetry.

The collaboration between Kolon and Norm Architects also reveals itself in the study, through the recessed shelving and custom desk. “When recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, that’s when everything comes together to form a balanced space; when design mirrors the architecture and vice-versa,” Jonas explains.

SoHo Loft by LP Creative and Danielle Bernstein

The open-plan living and dining space reveals Lauren’s affinity for sensorial layering, where travertine, clay, timber, linen and cane harmoniously coexist with one another. The distinct zig-zag off-white sofa was born from a collaboration between LP Creative, Danielle and Corvino Designs and features a unique built-in display plinth.

Artwork on linen by Canadian contemporary fine artist Kit King also serves as a cover for the television, keeping clutter to a minimum. “We were very thoughtful in our selection of wall art; only a few pieces that really evoked the feeling we were after made the final cut,” Lauren says.
