The home nestles into the sloping site, and the monochromatic exterior highlights the strong structural elements. The introduction of the concrete breeze blocks carries through from the entry and provides the home with a clear pathway to the door while encouraging texture and play of light.
Sky Residence’s spatial design is driven by functionality and strengthened by emotional connection. The open plan kitchen is at the heart of the home, featuring sage Laminex joinery, a concrete benchtop and Brodware tapware. The kitchen and living areas are visually connected across the main floor plane and are complemented by the deep, textural palette. Strategic openings to natural light highlight the muted emerald trusses, concrete breeze blocks, and timber flooring. Williams Burton Leopardi’s mission was to strip away the ‘extraneous’ and refocus the home around its views while protecting the home from the impact of its environment; harsh sunlight, strong winds and bushfire risk.
